Embattled Haiti leader thanks Dominican President for Law on aliens

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.- Haiti president Michel Martelly on Wednesday thanked Dominican counterpart Danilo Medina for signing the Naturalization Act to regularize aliens into law, and congratulated him for "delivering on his pledge."
The announcement came as thousands of protesters in Port-au-Prince demanded his resignation as President, and while Haiti's Head of State is at the extreme eastern tip of the island of Hispaniola.
Martelly met with Puntacana Group president Frank Rainieri, from where he sent "a special greeting of solidarity, fraternity and cordiality to Medina."
